Before your shoot
Get the home camera-ready.
A quick checklist for sellers and agents. A little prep the day before makes every photo look its best.
- Turn on all interior lights, including lamps
- Replace any burned-out bulbs
- Match bulb color if possible (all warm or all daylight)
- Turn off ceiling fans 5 minutes before we arrive
- Open blinds evenly
- Remove window screens if possible
- Turn off all TVs and computer screens
- Hide trash cans
- Tidy cords and visible wiring
- Clean mirrors, glass and reflective surfaces
- Make beds neatly with aligned pillows
- Remove excess personal photos
- Declutter tables, desks and dressers
- Vacuum carpets and sweep or mop floors
- Move vehicles out of the driveway and street view
- Store trash and recycling bins out of sight
- Remove yard signs (for sale, security, school)
- Sweep driveways and walkways
- Mow and edge the lawn
- Trim hedges and tidy flower beds
- Clear leaves and debris
- Pets secured or off-site
